It's about this young French nursing student, named Isabelle. She suffers from dizziness and fainting spells which a colleague diagnoses as Cooper's Syndrome. The same concerned colleague, a doctor, rapes female patients in their beds as they recover from surgery. He anaethetises them so as to render them docile and ignorant of what has gone on.
Isabelle is conflicted. She suspects Dr. Phillipe, but also has a little crush on him. Eventually she has to undergo surgery and recovery in the ward where Dr. Phillipe has been indulging his sick fantasies...
This film isn't particularly original plot wise. The dialogue isn't particularly snappy or amusing, but the director has done a good job with creating an other worldly, menacing atmosphere of danger, where it always seems to be night time.
The young French actress who plays Isabelle is likeable. The ending might leave some viewers feeling a bit cheated but still I enjoyed the ride.
