What a delightful film. I adored it. It ended much too soon which is always the sign of a good flick.
Peter Dinklage, who I believe is a famous actor due to his role in 'Game of Thrones' (I've never seen it), stars as a man with dwarfism whose employer - who is also only friend; drops dead, leaving him a run down old train depot in rural New Jersey. Here he meets two friends - a loud, pushy hot dog vendor and a woman in crisis due to a bereavement. The truth is nothing much happens plot wise. It's just an interesting character study. Particularly in terms of the main character Finn (Dinklege). It shows you how much of a fucking drag it is to have people walk behind you shouting humiliating stuff like "Da Plane! Da Plane!" (if you're old enough to remember 'Fantasy Island' you'll know what I mean.) It's an entertaining study of how challenging it is to be different in this world - and how appallingly people can treat you as a result.
I've made it sound all doom and gloom and it's the opposite of that. I found it utterly charming.
Not a multiplex type thrill a minute - but still a really lovely film to watch on an afternoon. I recommend it, should anyone ever visit this site again...
