Been meaning to buy this album for years, ever since I read that Kate Bush used to listen to them as a kid. The credits sounded really promising, they were on the "Witchseason" label, same as Fairport and Nick Drake, and were produced by the great Joe Boyd.
But oh my God...what a disappointment. Half assed folk/psychedelia without any tunes or interesting lyrics. I can't imagine what Boyd was thinking about when he signed them. Listening to the album all the way through was a fucking drag. I must remember not to get too nostalgic about music. Not to keep thinking that everything was better in the 1960's. Because sometimes it just fucking wasn't. Thank God I only paid a fiver for the album.
Next time I'll definitely download tracks on Limewire before I chance my luck and spend money on a new artist. God I love Limewire....
